Years ago, Baptiste decided 50 world cup points in FIS giant slaloms were enough to retire from alpine racing. So, he took his passion for skiing and the mountains off-piste and worked hard to become a successful professional freeskier.
Biggest Success:
Standing on the podium on the Freeskiing World Tour several times and at the Red Bull Snowthrill in Chamonix.
Best rookie at the Nea-Awards 2001.
The spirit of skiing:
Take it to the limit and make it look smooth and nice.
The most risky experience:
Descending Mount Cook in New Zealand for the first time ever.
The most painful experience:
Every injury! Breaking my collarbone in 2000 and then a severe knee injury the following year were definitely the worst.
The ultimate day on the mountain:
At home in Les Arcs with my friends especially when it never stops
snowing.
What goes through your head before dropping a big face?
The absolute focus on the perfect line.
Reminiscence about KÄSTLE:
All I can think of is Pirmin Zurbriggen who won a downhill on a seven-year-old Kästle ski.
Three reasons why KÄSTLE:
The quality.
The team.
The challenge.
What do you do in the summer?
Training and travelling.
Music:
Anything better then my band: Puzzle.
Role models/Idols that inspire you?
I don’t have any idols but I try to inspire everyone around me.
Passions:
Playing drums and ice hockey.
