„I’ve been fortunate to ski in Asia, Alaska, and all over North America on some of my climbing expeditions, and looking forward to endorsing KÄSTLE skis! I had the good fortune of skiing in the backcountry off some peaks with Chris Davenport during one of his recent projects here in Colorado. He skis with KÄSTLE, and endorses the skis at a high level which helped turn my attention to this brand. As a long-time ski-mountaineer with many projects of my own in the works for big mountains all over the world, I plan on exploring many places on a new brand of skis that I am sure to enjoy and be able to provide awesome photos and feedback for the product. The TX ski-line is the most versatile big mountain ski there is, and I am planning on taking these skis down nearly everything from giant couloirs to broad and deep mountain powder slopes for 2014 in places like Nepal, Colorado, and on the Pacific Northwest Volcanoes!“
‘Ski’ is in my last name! It’s who I am. Growing up in Vail Colorado, I’ve been skiing since I started walking at about 2 years old. I had climbed each of Colorado’s 54 14,000’ peaks before I turned 18. I’ve skied hundreds of 13ers and 14ers in the United States. Now a veteran of 8 major expeditions to peaks higher than 20,000’, I’ve been able to use skiing as the best way to descend peaks after a long ascent. With a Ph.D. in Geography, weather and climate, I’m always out on the peaks as a guide, ski-mountaineer, and weather/adventure TV consultant. In 2012 I climbed Mount Everest, and in 2013 I climbed and skied in the Karakoram of Pakistan near K2 and on the Gasherbrums, two 8000m peaks. I plan on Xploring even more awesome places on my KÄSTLE skis.
