October 25, 2013 (Salzburg, Austria) - KÄSTLE announces the addition of Chris Davenport to its shareholder group. Davenport has been with the KÄSTLE Pro Team since its inauguration in 2007. A dedicated big-mountain skier and mountaineer, Davenport’s involvement with the brand goes beyond that of just an athlete; he has worked with designers in the development of new KÄSTLE products and was instrumental in the success of KÄSTLE’s current US business. His collaboration is most recently evident in the new 2013-14 FX ski line, his signature series.
“We are thrilled to deepen our partnership with Chris,” says KÄSTLE Managing Partner, Siegfried Rumpfhuber. “He has been an invaluable resource both as a brand ambassador and product developer in the US, our biggest market worldwide.”
Two-time World Champion skier Chris Davenport is widely regarded as one of the premier big mountain skiers in the world. Among his many ski mountaineering achievements, in 2007 Chris became the first person to ski all fifty-four of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks in less than one year. He has numerous first descents of peaks around the globe under his belt. Additionally, Warren Miller and Matchstick Productions have featured him in more than thirty ski films.
“I am extremely happy with the evolution of my position with KÄSTLE,” states Davenport. “KÄSTLE has been an incredible partner for me as an athlete, and I look forward to moving into other aspects of the business beyond product development and marketing.”
Becoming a shareholder includes a seat at the KÄSTLE board of director’s table. While moving into a deeper role into North American operations, product development will continue to be at the forefront of Davenport’s brand responsibilities.
