SHOVEL CONCEPT

SIGNIFICANT FOR THE STEERING BEHAVIOR

The shovel is the widest part of the ski at the front. The shovel concept describes the location of the turning point of the sidecut relative to the central point of contact within the shovel geometry. This is significant for the steering behavior.

FAST GRIP SHOVEL
The Kästle shovel geometry inspires performance steering behavior and exceptional precision. The widest part of the sidecut as a rule is between 5 to 7cm after the point of contact in the geometry of the shovel. The goal is to adapt with the widest part of the shovel the steering behavior for each target group perfectly.

HOOK FREE SHOVEL
The Kästle Freeski shovel geometry is designed for a smooth-running ride in variable snow conditions and breakable crust. The widest point of the sidecut shifts, compared to traditional concepts that are toward the direction of the ski center. This makes the ski more forgiving and less aggressive. The flattened transition from sidecut to shovel geometry delivers an easy turn initiation.
